Back to “Home” School Series (B2HS)

August 30, 2021

back2homeschoolThis past week I ran a series of articles helping you (and me!) get ready for the new school year. Personally, I love this time of year – like Anne Shirley, I excitedly look forward to a whole new year with no mistakes in it yet. We collect our materials, plan our schedules and get everything ready for a new year of learning.

This school year is going to be interesting.  Earlier this month we moved my two oldest into their dorm at college (yes, dorm – they are roommates). Sarah’s a senior and Robbie’s a sophomore.  This is the first time Robbie has been away from home for more than a few weeks.  Riley still lives at home and is studying art and design at his own pace. And that leaves just one left to homeschool – my bouncy, chatty 12-year-old who reminds me on a daily basis that it won’t be long before she leaves for college too! I plan to savor these last few years of homeschooling.

Here is a recap of all of the articles from the Back to “Home” School series, collected here for easy access.

Also, the following is the link to our “Tea with Emily – episode 4 – Back to (Home) School” from August 23, 2019. In this episode, we chatted about getting organized and prepping for a great school year! (watch Episode 4 video recording here)

If you are brand new to homeschooling – Welcome! I have a free Build Your Library University course that you might find helpful as you navigate your first year!

I hope you all have a wonderful school year and a great first day back!
