Lit Bite: Megabat

November 18, 2022

Daniel has just moved to a new house in a new town far from his friends. But something is weird about this new place – there’s a strange leak in his bedroom ceiling and sometimes it makes weird sounds. Could it be haunted?

When he discovers it isn’t a ghost, but a talking bat in the attic rafters, he finds a new friend as well as a purpose: help Megabat get home! He’ll learn a lot about bats, friends, and the meaning of home in the process.

With this Lit Bite, your child will learn about bats, cardinal directions, and geography! There are so many fun rabbit trails you can take with this story as you read about the budding friendship between Daniel and Megabat. They’ll be having so much fun, they won’t even know they are learning!

This Lit Bite will take 2 weeks to complete (as written) and is perfect for children ages 5 – 8.

Every Lit Bite comes with:

  • a full reading schedule
  • vocabulary
  • discussion questions
  • copywork and dictation taken from the literature
  • activities and project ideas to help you achieve the best reading experience with your children!
