Purchase: Level 3 curriculum

Level 3
( Grade 3 – Age 8-10 )

It was a time of colonization, revolution, discoveries and inventions – get ready to embark on an adventure through early modern history!

Snuggle up on the couch and enjoy great literature that your whole family will enjoy. Stow away on the H.M.S. Endeavour with Captain Cook and sail around the world in Stowaway. Explore a secret cottage in the English countryside with Mandy and become a secret spy for the patriots during the Revolutionary War in Sophia’s War: A Tale of the Revolution.

Your child will read a number of quality books this year, in a variety of genres. They’ll enjoy historical fiction like A Lion to Guard Us and The Matchlock Gun, non-fiction selections like Trail of Tears and If You Lived with the Iroquois, and classics like The Littles, Along Came a Dog and Les Miserables.

The science focus this year is Chemistry and Microscopy. You will learn how to use a microscope, and explore a world that could fit on the head of a pin. Later in the year your child will study the Periodic Table of Elements, conduct many experiments and delve briefly into the study of electricity.

You and your child will explore great artists and art techniques using Discovering Great Artists and The Usborne Introduction to Art as your guides.  Your child will create masterpieces and learn about art techniques used by artist that lived during the Early Modern period. These books will be used throughout the rest of the elementary years.

My lesson plans guide you through the school year effortlessly. Your planning is done for you so that you can spend your time on the important things, like teaching your children.
